The Workshop

The workshop for Phoenix World Project was installed in the garage. As the work consisted in woodwork, welding, sand down, painting including spray and airbrushing, etc,

it was the best place where to do it (in a standard family house, I mean). A used kitchen cooker hood was installed with flexible hose to the exterior as a painting booth.

All around the working table were shelves to align all size of boxes. A lot of shoeboxes were collected as they were the perfect size and came with a lid to protect the content from dust. At the bottom were larger cardboard boxes to store the many recycled

plastic parts and larger tools. A special place, close to the door and far from the working table and the heating was set up for all the chemicals (glues, methanol, diluents, white spirit, cleaner, etc.) and paint and varnish cans.

This project proved to be greedy in all kinds of different materials like infinite variety of cardboards, thin to thick Perspex or transparent plastic sheets, many types of tubes, rods, bars made of metal, plastic or wood, different kinds of timber sheets including balsa. All kinds of plaster, cement, scuptamold, sawdust, static grass, sand, gravel, PVA, superglue,

rubber glue, cardboard glue, wood glue, contact glue, resin two components adhesive, resin and hardener for water effects were used. Many types of tapes, protecting tapes, aluminium tape, etc. Plus many and many specialised materials and products for modellers and also a lot of recycled stuffs and parts.
